TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR KAYAK RENTERS

1. All kayak renters must be 19 years of age or over; kayak operators must be minimum 16 years of age (proof of age necessary). Any operator under 16 years of age requires a consent signature from their Parent or Guardian.

2. Renters must supply us with a valid credit card number, a valid drivers licence number and sign a Rental Waiver and Terms and Conditions form. 

3. In order to transport kayaks, renters must have appropriate means of carriage on their vehicle.

4. If a boat, paddle or any other rented equipment is lost, stolen or damaged, the renter will be responsible for replacement or repair costs at full retail prices.  These costs will immediately be charged to the credit card number supplied.

5. On weekend rentals, late returns will be charged a full day rental fee per boat. Regular park rentals will be charged double time per hour if prior overtime authorization has not been obtained from Fintry Fun Rentals.

6. There is a maximum of 1 person per kayak seat at all times. No persons permitted in kayak hatches.

7. Renters using kayaks on Lake Okanagan must stay within 150 yards (approximately 1.5 football fields) from the shoreline for safety and emergency purposes.

8. PFD's must be worn at all times while on the water – Transport Canada safety requirement.

9. All renters must provide their paddle plan and return time for emergency purposes to a relative or other responsible person so that Marine Rescue may be advised if overdue. Marine Rescue in the North Westside area is a 911 call.

10. If a rental kayak is overdue by 2 hours without authorization having been received from Fintry Fun Rentals, Marine Rescue will be notified of the missing person and kayak by way of a 911 call. Any unnecessary expense to Fintry Fun Rentals related to such an incident will be charged to the credit card supplied by the renter, including overdue rental fees and wages for the attendant.

11. There will be a $10 charge for dirty boat returns on rentals.

12. There is no qualified first aid person at Fintry Fun Rentals; however, there is a basic first aid kit available to kayak renters only.

13. After hours inquiries will be answered at 250-808-3690 during reasonable hours. In an emergency, renters must call 911.
